History: Founded in 1989.
SPORTS BEYOND is unique in that we do not see
the activity as an end in itself, but work with coaches, parents, and
pastors to see the development of the whole person - mental, emotional,
physical, and spiritual.

SPORTS BEYOND is a community sponsored and funded non-profit
organization dedicated to promoting athletics from a Christian perspective.
SPORTS BEYOND serves families of young people ages 7-17 of Kitsap
County. Ministry may take place outside the area on a case by case basis.
SPORTS BEYOND was founded in 1989 by high school coaches,
parents, and pastors, in Kitsap County, who recognized many young athletes entering junior
high and high school lacked fundamental skills of their sport and had very little respect
for coaches, officials, or players. SPORTS BEYOND was created to challenge young people to
rise above the level of mediocrity and pursue excellence in everything they do. Athletics
is popular in our culture and very appealing to the majority of young people. Professional
sports do not give young athletes many positive role models to emulate. By creating a
positive environment stressing fundamentals, quality role models, and strong leadership,
young people will be directed and encouraged to develop sound character and moral
fortitude to make right choices.
